What is Gupt Navratri?
Gupt Navratri, also known as Ashada and Magha Navratri or Gayatri Navratri, is dedicated to Maa Durga. While Chaitra and Sharad Navratri are popular, the Gupt Navratri is celebrated secretly to attain Riddhi & Siddhi. This is why they are called the “secret nine nights,” during which seekers tap into the divine feminine power of Maa Durga and achieve the desired spiritual enlightenment.
When is Gupt Navrati in 2024?
It is celebrated twice a year with full devotion. Magh Navratri is mainly celebrated in North India and the Ashadh Navratri is celebrated mainly in South India. It is celebrated during the month of Maagh (January-February) and Ashada ( June-July).

Why is Gupt Navratri Celebrated?
It is an occasion of secret Sadhna (rituals), usually performed by Sadhus and Tantriks associated with Shakti Sadhana, Bhairav Sadhana, and other Sadhna to please Maa Durga by worshiping her nine forms. The Dus Mahavidya Goddess worship is also done during this period. They are:-

- Mantra for Well being: “सर्व मंगल मांगल्ये शिवे सर्वार्थ साधिके। शरन्ये त्रयम्बिके गौरी नारायणी नमोस्तुते ” – Dedicated to Goddess Mahagauri
- Mantra for Power:“सृष्टिस्थिति विनाशानां शक्तिभूते सनातनि।गुणाश्रये गुणमये नारायणी नमोस्तुते। ‘’- Dedicated to Goddess Narayani
- Overcoming Difficulties:“शरणागत-दीनार्त-परित्राण-परायणे! सर्वस्यार्तिंहरे देवि! नारायणि! नमोऽस्तुते॥”- Dedicated to Goddess Narayani
